The performance also features masterpieces like Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Twyla Tharp’s Sinatra Suite, and the premiere of Vingt-Deux by Briana Reed. Inspired by Vaslav Nijinsky's legacy, Herman Cornejo honors it with a groundbreaking piece a century later. This work delves into love, community, peace, war, redemption, and our connection to nature. It follows a man's journey to discover his true self by embracing the noble animal instincts within us all.
SYNOPSIS
A colossal explosion births the universe, setting the stage for Earthʼs creation and the evolution of human life. This journey unfolds through stages of existence, culminating in the purification of the soul, eternally connected to the animal spirit within. Guyra, an indigenous warrior, wrestles with the weight of human imperfection, seeking meaning in a world filled with both beauty and chaos.
Amid his struggles, Guyra encounters Yvy, an indigenous woman from another tribe, and their love becomes a transcendent bond that defies the boundaries of their existence. But as a catastrophic flood devastates the Earth, war and chaos erupt among communities. In a tragic twist, Guyra, defending himself, accidentally takes the life of Yvy.
